چکیده

Investments in energy sources are scaling up across India to improve climate security and further mitigate future change. Forest biomass litterfall pattern play an important role the sustainable management of forests efficient utilization resources. This study investigates seasonal for five consecutive years (2015–2019) four different vegetation types Central (AABR) using litter traps method on forest floor. An ANOVA model was adopted infer effects types, seasonality production. The estimated mean dry tropical recorded as 4.19 ± 0.305 Mg/ha/y where teak plantations contribute higher values compared other studied types. A positive correlation observed between nutrient storage with soil-adjusted index indices. findings turnover rate nutrients indicated that AABR have huge potential carbon sequestration help achieve Conference Parties (COP-26) goal reducing regional and/or global

Occurrence of culturable soil fungi in a tropical moist deciduous forest Similipal Biosphere Reserve, Odisha, India

Similipal Biosphere Reserve (SBR) is a tropical moist deciduous forest dominated by the species Shorea robusta . To the best of our knowledge their rich biodiversity has not been explored in term of its microbial wealth. In the present investigation, soil samples were collected from ten selected sites inside SBR and studied for their physicochemical parameters and culturable soil fungal diversi...

Indoor particulate concentration during biomass burning in central India

Indoor air particulate (PM) exposure is several folds more dangerous than  outdoor air  owing to burning of different materials. Burning biomass emits toxic fumes that are found to be associated with  numerous health problems  such as respiratory diseases, etc. In our study area,  approximately 80% of the population of Chhattisgarh state, central India use biomass  such as wood, and cow dung as...

Forest Clearing Among Farm Households in the Maya Biosphere Reserve*

Central America’s tropical forests have been felled more rapidly than those of any other world region during the latter half of the twentieth century. During this time, nearly half of Guatemala’s forests were eliminated. Most of this deforestation has been concentrated in the northern department of Petén. The remaining forests in Petén are now mainly concentrated in the Maya Biosphere Reserve (...

Composition and Stand Structure of Tropical Moist Deciduous Forest of Similipal Biosphere Reserve, Orissa, India

Tropical forests are highly productive, structurally complex, genetically rich renewable genetic resources (Roy et al., 2002). The tropical deforestation contributes to increase in atmospheric CO2 and other gases affecting the climate and biodiversity. Though such type of forests occupy less than 7% of the land surface, there have the higher distinction of harbouring 50% of all plant and animal...
